This milestone signifies that Soetek has established a robust management framework for information security governance, risk management, and operational control—one that is auditable, actionable, and capable of continuous improvement.

During the certification ceremony, Soetek and representatives from SGS jointly marked this important milestone and posed for commemorative photos in front of the company’s brand wall—symbolizing their shared commitment to the principle that “information security is service quality.” In his remarks, Soetek’s General Manager, Tony, emphasized that information security “cannot be faked,” noting that any lapse will inevitably lead to problems. In light of the increasing number of security incidents faced by clients in recent years, he stressed that service providers and consultants must first ensure their own systems and processes are firmly in place, enabling them to support clients with higher professional standards as they confront increasingly severe security risks.
Following the achievement of ISO 27001 certification, Soetek will continue to expand its information security capabilities in line with its established roadmap. This includes pursuing cloud-related certifications such as ISO 27017 and ISO 27018. Amid the fast-paced rhythm of everyday work, we chose to step away from our laptops and meetings and take part in a company-wide team-building retreat. This was more than just an event—it was a journey that brought us closer together.

Day One

The highlight of the first day was a cross-department car-building challenge. Colleagues from different teams were grouped together on the spot, and every stage—from design and assembly to testing—required close communication and coordination. Some focused on ideation, others on fine details, while a few stepped in to resolve unexpected issues on site. The process showcased not only creativity and technical skills, but also the power of cross-functional collaboration. Colleagues who were once unfamiliar quickly built rapport around a shared goal, filling the space with laughter and applause.
This was followed by a mindfulness aromatherapy session and a talk on eye health, offering a relaxed setting to learn how to take better care of ourselves—reminding us that health and focus are the foundations for sustained progress.
In the evening, informal networking time became a stage for sharing life stories and emotions. Conversations flowed easily in a warm, relaxed atmosphere, and the distance between colleagues quietly narrowed. A fun lucky draw added excitement, with laughter and anticipation energizing the room. The day concluded with a group photo, capturing this rare moment of togetherness and symbolizing a shared vision of moving forward together as a team.

Day Two

We split into groups to explore local markets and cultural sites. While discovering regional special, colleagues also sparked new ideas through open and free interaction. These exchanges in different settings infused the team with fresh creativity and positive energy.
In September 2025, Soetek’s team-building retreat came to a successful close. This retreat was more than just a two-day event—it became a shared memory for everyone involved. It allowed us to once again experience our core values of being people-centric and achieving success through collaboration, while strengthening team cohesion through laughter, conversation, and exploration. Looking ahead, Soetek will continue to foster a healthy, open, and vibrant workplace through diverse activities, moving forward together with all colleagues toward steady and sustainable growth.

After implementation, the monthly financial closing cycle was shortened by 11 days, saving more than two hours of manual processing time per day. With the brand promise of “five-star flavors at Wu Xian Ji prices” (a Taiwanese homophone implying affordability), the group has also established a central kitchen to ensure consistent soup quality.
In the post-pandemic era, as market dynamics evolve rapidly, Wu Xian Ji aims to deliver the highest CP value across different menu categories. In 2024, the group continued to expand its restaurant footprint and develop five brands under its portfolio.

In 2024, under the leadership of General Manager Ko Li-Hsing, a cross-functional project team was formed—bringing together finance and IT talent—to accelerate the group’s digital transformation initiatives.

Challenge: Difficulty in Integrating Operational Data in Real Time

General Manager Ko Li-Hsing stated, “The restaurant industry has traditionally been highly resistant to digitalization. However, as market competition intensifies and Wu Xian Ji continues to scale with ambitions for international expansion, talent development has become increasingly challenging. Reducing repetitive manual processes was a key reason why Wu Xian Ji decided to take a bold step toward digitalization.”
The legacy ERP system was gradually unable to cope with growing business demands. Each month, significant manpower was required to verify figures and reconcile reports, and it was difficult to integrate operational data across departments in real time. As a result, Wu Xian Ji decided to implement SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP.
Ko further explained, “We chose SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP not only because it provides comprehensive functionality across finance, procurement, inventory management, sales, and production, but also because its flexible cloud deployment and scalability can support the company’s future growth.”

Precisely Connecting Operational Data Across All Stores

Kate Hsu, Finance Director of Wu Xian Ji International Restaurant Group, noted that to accelerate core operational transformation and precisely integrate information flows, cash flows, and accounting processes, Wu Xian Ji worked closely with the Soetek consulting team. In the first phase, the company implemented the FI/CO modules of SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP, integrating financial operations from the existing ERP system into SAP and focusing on improving the accuracy of internal financial data.
General Manager Ko Li-Hsing candidly shared that previous attempts to implement core systems had ended in failure. When preparing to deploy SAP Smart Cloud ERP, Wu Xian Ji evaluated several consulting firms before ultimately succeeding with the Soetek consulting team. He identified three key factors behind the successful go-live within just one quarter: first, Wu Xian Ji set clear objectives by prioritizing financial operational data; second, the internal technical team possessed strong system integration capabilities; and third, Soetek provided robust support by thinking from the client’s perspective and helping the team quickly identify effective solutions.

“Previously, delays in operational data meant that business strategies and marketing initiatives were often driven by gut feeling. Finance Director Kate Hsu added that the system has substantially reduced repetitive accounting work and shortened the workflow and time required from posting to clearing entries. For example, the monthly financial closing cycle has been brought forward by 11 days, from the 21st to the 10th of each month. With journal entries automatically generated by the system, the finance team now saves more than two hours of manual processing time per day, significantly reducing the burden of manual data entry and calculations.

Wu Xian Ji aims to surpass 101 stores across Taiwan and further expand internationally, positioning itself as a representative global restaurant brand from Taiwan. The group will continue to deepen its use of SAP Cloud ERP, advancing data-driven governance and technology-enabled management to strengthen operational processes.
To address supply chain management challenges in the restaurant industry, the next phase will focus on improving the accuracy of ingredient ordering and warehouse management. Wu Xian Ji also plans to further integrate SAP S/4HANA to build a central command center, enabling real-time visibility into ingredient price fluctuations and supply-demand dynamics. By automatically analyzing sales data from each store and optimizing ordering processes through AI-driven intelligence, the company aims to significantly enhance overall operational efficiency.
